To Our Amazing Educators Everywhere,
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
I have a student whose accommodation requires me to print the quiz so that she can take it on paper. I am using old quizzes and pulling from test banks. How can I print the quiz and accommodate the student? At this point, I am obligated to follow the federal guidelines for accessibility. This is not the first time this particular accommodation has come up.
You can open the quiz as the Test Student to generate the quiz with questions form your question bank and then print from your browser. Canvas currently doesn't provide any other options for printing Canvas Quizzes despite years of requests for this feature from K12 users who are required to meet student testing accomodations.
Hi Audra,
Printing from from browser splits the questions and generally produces a document that doesn't meet guidelines for accessibility either. Are there no other options? Will someone from the Accessibility Team for Canvas please respond?
There's a Chrome Extension that has been brought up when this question has come up in the past:
Canvas Quiz Printer - Chrome Web Store
It makes a pretty nice printed quiz. Would this work for you?
No. It didn't work for me. It's telling about an LMS when there are so many Chrome extensions developed by people to make Canvas work.
Sadly, that extension is not working.
I saw your post on this matter. If you are looking for a way to print out a classic quiz, then try this javascript add on:

Thank you.
It worked well. I will have to determine how to distribute this effectively to our staff who need it without creating issues with our tech department.
Well if you really want to rock the boat - check out some of the features mentioned in this article

There are some good scripts to use. Sorting a rubric is great and quiz wiz is really good. to use these install tampermonkey. I use them in Chrome, but they might work in some other browsers.

Hi @jbeyer1 I thought that I would mention there are a couple ideas open for this functionality, https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/7285-exporting-quizzes-into-word-or-pdf-documents and https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1055-printable-pdf-exportable-quizzes" modifiedtitle="true" ti.... I would definitely add your vote to both of these. There is also a lengthy discussion here, https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1055-printable-pdf-exportable-quizzes" modifiedtitle="true" ti.... Since you mention using old quizzes, I am sure you are aware Canvas is working on New Quizzes. Development folks at Canvas have mentioned several times that printing is something they are aware is a need so hopefully that will come about before long!
I have. Those suggestions have been out there for 5 years now.
