Workday as an SIS

Hello all,

I am looking for schools that are using Workday as their SIS system, and if so are you using the grade pass back plugin option? If not, are there any particular reasons why you are not using grade pass back plug in option?

Sorry for resurrecting a nearly year-old post, but I’m with The University of Tampa and we were the fifth school to implement Workday Student. We recently switched to Canvas in Fall 2023 and currently use Workday as our SIS.

While I am not a Workday expert by any means, we do have a dedicated Workday Solutions team and an integrations architect who designed our current SIS integration based on our previous one with Blackboard.

To your question, @sfrankli1, we do not currently use grade passback. I can’t speak to any technical reasons why, but I think it’s more because we only just switched to Canvas so recently and haven’t had a chance to look into that. Our faculty are used to entering final grades into Workday manually at the end of each semester, so we’re looking at it as a future state “nice-to-have” feature.

If you (or anyone else reading this who is also a Workday Student user) are planning to attend InstructureCon 2024, I’d be happy to meet up and discuss our experiences!

We are in the last stages of implementing Workday Student.  In April, we will do Fall 2024 registration in Workday and then be fully in production August 2024.  We have been using Canvas since 2019.  As off right now, @sfrankli1, we do not plan to use the grade passback either.  Even though we are not attending InstructureCon this year, I would love to connect with you both to discuss how to leverage both systems.
