notes not saving

This looks to be a bug.  In my 600 FCS class, I’ll enter a short text, but it is not saving.  Stopped working about 3 weeks ago.  Seems to be the only class where this is happening.  Help?

Since it is only happening in this one class, that makes it even more challenging to troubleshoot. Have you reached out to Canvas Support? They would be able to look through one of the courses that is not experiencing the problem and compare it with the course that is experiencing the problem because it seems that 'something' is getting in the way.

Just to be sure, are you a teacher and referring to the Notes column in the gradebook, or something else entirely?

If you are following the guidance in the How do I use the Notes column in the Gradebook? - Instructure Community - 940  support article and it is not working, my few recommendations would be to:

1. clear your history, cookies, and cache (https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/clear-cache-history-cookies)
2. update your web browser (https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-update-your-browser)
3. make sure that cookies are enabled (https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-enable-cookies)
4. confirm that JavaScript is enabled (https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/how-to-enable-javascript)
5. make sure that you do not have any extensions, plugins, or add-ons added to your web browser that could cause conflicts
   1. easiest way to try and figure that out is to use incognito or private browsing and see if the problem still happens (https://www.computerworld.com/article/1719851/how-to-go-incognito-in-chrome-firefox-safari-and-edge....)
   2. if using incognito/private browser solves the problem, an extension might be causing a conflicting and you would need to turn each one off and see if that solves the problem (

Actually it is just the one class,  notes will save in other classes.

Hi @BrianMurraySPS,

The Instructure Community here is basically a peer to peer assistance forum.  While there are a few Instructure emplpyees around who will provide release notes, blog posts, and sometimes post in specific areas for new feature testing, the community would not be considered an area to get official Canvas support from Instructure.  Please see the How do I contact Canvas Support? - Instructure Community - 389767 article for some info on getting in touch with Canvas support if it's available at your school/institution.
