Deploy notes indicate notable changes in the deploy.
When added in the Gradebook for a student’s assignment, the Excused status displays in the Grades field in SpeedGrader.
This change provides consistency in viewing the Excused status in both the Gradebook and SpeedGrader.
Affected User Roles
When an assignment is excused for a student, the Excused status displays in the Grades field as EX. The field is grayed out to indicate the student has been excused from the assignment and a grade is not required.
Microsoft Immersive Reader has been changed from an Account Feature Preview, which must be enabled by admins, to an accessibility feature that individual users can enable in their User Settings.
This change provides more granularity for users to access Microsoft Immersive Reader.
Affected User Roles
In Account Settings, Microsoft Immersive Reader no longer includes a Lock option. This feature can only be enabled for the entire account. By default, the feature preview is turned off.
In User Settings, Microsoft Immersive Reader is available for users to enable individually, regardless of the preference set at the account level. However, if the feature is on for the entire account, the account preference overrides the user preference, and the user setting has no effect.
Microsoft Immersive Reader enhances the reading experience within Canvas by improving accessibility and boosting reading comprehension. When enabled, Microsoft Immersive Reader displays a reader button in course pages.
