Canvas Deploy Notes (2024-11-20)

Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Institutions are responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of their custom CSS/JS with each release and deploy to assess potential impacts.

People

Group Visit Link Remains

Summary

When a student joins a self-sign-up group on the People page, the Visit link remains next to the name of the group they joined. Previously, the link would disappear after joining.

Change Benefit

This update allows students to easily navigate back to their group page whenever needed, providing quick access to group resources.

When expanding and collapsing a discussion thread, the selected visibility preference is automatically saved for that specific discussion.
