Studio is built on the generic Screencast-o-matic tool, which allows for sharing channels. I would really value a way to share a channel or a gallery or even just thumbnails so I can build a channel or gallery manually myself. This functionality is already built into the SCM tool. It feels like the tool currently just assumes if I share a video from Canvas Studio, I want it large on the screen.
It would also be really great for users and adoption if SCM and Studio could talk to one another/if videos could be transferred between these two tools.
Also did I miss it or are you pretty much only able to use the editing tools on a video you make once. After you add to the library (only option), how can i update/re-edit the video. In SCM, a revised edit can overwrite the existing video, keeping the same URL connection. Just being able to easily re-edit really helps. But if I download a video I made in Studio and then re-upload it, I won't have the editing tools to revise my edits--or am I missing something?
@mnewhart ...
I realize that you posted this over 2 1/2 years ago, but I thought I'd chime in anyway. Some of what you posted above seem like suggestions as enhancements to Studio. For those, please consider submitting those as Ideas here in the Community so that they can be evaluated by Community members and Instructure. To get started, check out the Guides located under the heading "Ideas and Themes" located at: Instructure Community Guide - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com). Then, to start your idea, go to: Canvas Ideas and Themes - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com), and click on the blue "View and Submit Ideas" button. On the next page, click on the blue "Submit an Idea" button. You can create your idea here. Or, maybe you'll find an existing idea that has already been submitted...in which case, you don't need to submit a new idea...to avoid duplication of ideas.

So I don't have stellar news for you on this. Yes, if you are using the "Screen Capture" tool within Studio, it is a bit of a chore to access previous recorded videos again. And, there's a bit of a catch with all of this, too. I'll try to explain...
If you use the "Screen Capture" to record a video, as long as you've not finalized the video so that it gets uploaded to your Studio library, and as long as you are editing the video on the same computer, you can go back and make edits. So, if you start making a video on Monday and want to continue working on it on Tuesday, you'd first have to record a new video via the "Screen Capture" tool in Studio. (Just record a few seconds.) Then, stop the video. Click the "Done" button. But, instead of filling out the "Title" and "Description" fields and then clicking on that bit green "Upload" button, click on the link in the upper left-hand corner instead, "Back to Video Projects". This will show you the video projects that are saved locally to that computer which you can continue to edit. However, if you have already fully finalized a video so that it is displayed in your Canvas Studio library, the video will not show up in this "Back to Video Projects" screen any more, and you'd have to re-record it.
I hope this will be helpful to you. Let me know if you have any questions...thanks!
