Action must be called on a root account

Hi, we're trying to run a code to change a user password group (1500 accounts) via API, but we receive this message: "Action must be called on a root account"

How can I have a root token?.

Hi @dsevilla,

Is the account you're using via the API an admin for your root canvas account?  I'm guessing it may just be a subaccount admin, which would not be able to update users since users all essentially live at the root account.  If you're a root account admin, make sure the API token is using a root account.  if you're just a subaccount admin, I'd suggest reaching out to your maid admin, who should have root account access to see what they'd be willing to do for you.
