How do I create a blog post in the Instructure Community?

Blogging is one form of content sharing in the Instructure Community. Posts are meant to share personal experiences with Instructure products and offer insights from your unique perspective.

Community members can post content in a blog in a Group Hub blog.

Tips

Posting content in the Instructure Community is a great way to organize your thoughts and share your expertise.

  • Determine where you want the blog post to reside. Please do not create duplicate posts in multiple groups.
  • Think about the topic and ways it can benefit other users.

View Group Hub

All community members can contribute blog posts to members-only groups, as long as they are members of that group.

Note: Some private or secret groups may not have the blogging tool enabled.

Write a Blog Post

On the group hub's home page, select the Start a topic drop-down [1]. Then click the Write a blog post option [2].

Add Content

Add Content

You can add the following to your blog post:

  • Subject [1]
  • Teaser [2]
  • Body [3]
  • Attachments [4]
  • Labels [5]
  • Tags [6]
  • Cover Photo [7]

Select Settings

Select Settings

You can select the following settings:

  • Email me when someone replies [1]
  • Do not allow anyone to tag this article [2]
  • Do not allow anyone to give kudos to this article [3]

Publish Blog Post

Publish Blog Post

You can schedule when your blog post is published [1].

To immediately publish your blog post, click the Post button [2].

If you want save your work and continue writing, click the Save Draft button [3].
