How do I create and assign custom assessment periods for my institution in Admin Settings?

In Elevate K-12 Analytics Admin Settings, you can create and assign custom assessment periods and assign assessments to the custom periods. This allows you to distinguish commonly named assessments given at different times, and enables the tracking of data across assessment periods. You can assign assessment periods to individual assessments, or you can bulk assign a filtered group of multiple assessments.

Note: Custom assessment periods is an optional feature. If you wish to have it turned on for your district or school, contact your Customer Success Manger (CSM).

In the Navigation Menu, click the Admin link.

Open Settings

In the Elevate K-12 Analytics Administration page, click the Settings link.

Open Assessment Periods

The Settings menu displays the Academics settings options [1]. Click the Assessment link [2]. Then, click the Assessment Periods link [2].

Create Assessment Period

To add a new assessment period, enter text in the New Assessment Period Name field [1]. Then, click the Add button [2].

To edit the assessment period name, click the Edit icon [3].

To delete the assessment period, click the Delete icon [4].

Note: To use assessment period names across multiple years, it is best to use a general assessment period name. i.e., Spring or Start of Year.

View Assessment List

The assessment list displays all assessments. To filter the assessment list, filter by school year, assessment name, assessment family, or grade [1].

You can view each assessment name [2], assessment period [3], the assessment period start date [4], and the assessment period end date [5].

To view or hide the assessment periods, click the Expand or Collapse icon [8].

Update Individual Assessment Period

To update an assessment period, click the Assessment Period drop-down menu [1], and select a different assessment period.

To change a start date and end date for an assessment period, use the calendars or edit the dates in the Start Date [2] and End Date fields [3].

To delete an assessment period, click the Delete icon [4].

Add Individual Assessment Period

To add an assessment period, click an assessment's Add icon [1].

Click the Assessment Period drop-down menu [2], and select an assessment period.

To select a start date and end date for the assessment period, use the calendars or enter dates in the Start Date [3] and End Date fields [4].

Assign or Update Multiple Assessment Periods

To add or update an assessment period for multiple assessments at once, select a group of assessments using the filter options.

Click the drop-down menus to filter by school year [1], assessment name [2], assessment family [3], or grade [4]. As you select filter options, the selections display in the filter field [5].

Select Assessment Period

To add or update an assessment period to the filtered list of assessments, define an assessment period in the Add/update association to the filtered items below section.

Click the Assessment Period drop-down menu [1], and select an assessment period name. Then, select a start and end date for the assessment period using the calendars or entering dates in the Start Date and End Date fields [2].

To assign or update the selected assessment period to all assessments currently in the list, click the Add/Update button [3].

View Updated or Added Assessment Periods

If an assessment already contained the assessment period name, the dates are updated [1]. Otherwise, the assessment period is added [2].
