To Our Amazing Educators Everywhere,
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
I am using self enrollment for my free Canvas Portal . My question is when my students use the link provided, where does canvas get the students email address and password from? One of my students did it successfully today w/o having to input that information
Hi @joed_graf, great question.
I'm wondering if you have set the course to public. This might make it so they do not need a username and password. I'm only guessing though. Perhaps check that.
If you'd prefer it to be closed down a bit more here's a great guide for that. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-enable-course-self-enrollment-with-a-jo...
Sing out if you need a hand.
I asked where Canvas obtained the email address /password from. Was it a file in Windows etc. Because if they go to enroll from the basic Canvas registration, it asks for first name, last name, Course code, email address and password. Students have to manually enter that information. That is what I was aksing
I'm sorry for jumping on someone else's question, but I put a self-enrollment question in some days ago, and the two self-enrollment questions entered since then were answered. This is my first time on the Community so not sure how this works.
Mostly I using the FFT, but my Settings menu looks different from the Guide.
I hope somebody can respond to my question.
Thanks for your help...
