Hi, Canvas users!
At my institution, the writing center director has set up a Canvas page for use by writing tutors. It serves mostly as a communication hub for the writing center, with active discussions, a calendar, and some resources for sharing with students who are being tutored. There is no client-facing content available on the writing center "course." I want to know if Canvas has functionality specifically oriented toward the tutoring environment, whereby tutors can engage with their student clients in a way that allows them to receive submissions, give feedback, hold remote tutoring sessions, share resources, and communicate with instructors about student participation in required tutoring sessions.
Thanks!
Hi @JesseSierke ...
I'm not sure this is exactly what you're looking for, but at my last position as a Canvas administrator, our College purchased something called NetTutori which integrates with Canvas. The interface places a "NetTutor" link on the Canvas course navigation menu, and students could use it to get tutoring services that they offer...which were for many different subjects. Here is a link to their website: NetTutor Online Tutoring. This is a link to the EduAppCenter site with some additional information: Edu App Center: NetTutor.
There is also another LTI external tool called Edu App Center: Pear Deck Tutor (formerly TutorMe), formerly but I have never used that one. Here is their website: Pear Deck Tutor | Pear Deck Learning.
I hope these links will help in some way.
