Add a tab such as Calendar or Dashboard titled “Office Hours” or “Virtual Offices”. In this tab professors would simply enter their weekly office hours and a link to the location (ie a zoom link) and the password. However, should professors not have time or simply don’t want to, allow the student user to enter the data themself such as within the calendar tab.

An instructor who wishes to create such a resource for their students can do so by creating a Canvas page that presents the office hours information. They can then add a link to that page in their course navigation by using the Redirect Tool (How do I add an external app in a course? and Edu App Center - Redirect Tool explain how).

Many instructors use the Scheduler tool to schedule office hours and provide students with sign-up slots: How do I add a Scheduler appointment group in a co...  If you don't see Scheduler when you navigate to your Canvas calendar, please contact your local Canvas admin for additional assistance.

As this is possible to accomplish using existing Canvas functionality and features, we've archived the idea.

However, with the existing strategy office hours are fragmented and students cannot create the layout themselves.

@Owen_Hodges Instructors have the option to enable an 'edit' option for students on a page. That said, the Scheduler tool provides the most versatility and is designed to be used to allow instructors to provide office hours slots from which students can choose.
