Partially anonymous peer review

Hi Canvas

I'm a Canvas admin at VUB. One of our students recently contacted a lecturer with the following issue. When the student was assigned an anonymous peer reviewing assigment, they let the lecturer know that the process was more laborious than it should be.

Because anonymous grading was turned on, the student had to manually go through every single submission to find the person she was supposed to peer review. One of our colleagues suggested having students write down their name on the first page of the assignment clearly to shorten the search time (similar suggestions we found here https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Question-Forum/Anonymous-peer-reviews/m-p/147413 & here https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Question-Forum/Anonymous-Group-Peer-Review/m-p/153689).

The feature idea we would like to propose is to have a partially anonymous peer review option, where students can clearly see the names of everyone who has submitted an assignment at one glance and can easily find the person they are supposed to grade, but students themselves don't know who graded them.

Kind regards
Annelies & the VUB team

I agree, there are several use cases where the reviewer will need to see the student they are reviewing, but the reviewee should not see the name of the reviewer.

Would very much appreciate this option

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
