To Our Amazing Educators Everywhere,
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Instructor issue--
Everyone: I use images in my exams and quizzes. I've had three students who have had problems with images not loading. All three students have told me that they are Safari users, and two of the three are MacBook users. I myself had the same issue with my iPhone, which has iOS 14.0.1 installed.
Canvas tech support was not of much help. They suggested disabling the "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" function and/or clearing the cache. That did not help for me. Using different browsers (Edge, Chrome) did not help either.
On my phone, the Canvas app worked perfectly, but that is not an option for Mac users.
Any other suggestions what can be done?
I have had the same issue appear as well in both the class I teach and also other faculty members. I am a Mac user, but others who use Windows have had image issues as well. I reported this to both my textbook publisher and Canvas and neither were of much help and pretty much blamed the other. Sometimes images do not appear, other times images from other quizzes show up. Weirdly enough, the images are in the files area and I just need to edit each question with an image and relink to the correct image and then they show up properly.
On another note, I have seen some really weird stuff happen with Safari. We recommend to all of our faculty and students that they only use Firefox and Chrome.
There is also a problem when using Safari with New Quizzes. If you click on the kabob to the right of a new quiz title, the drop down menu does not function properly.
