This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment.
When an equation contains a “.” the Accessibility Checker will flag the equation for using the image file name as alt text.
Instead the Accessibility Checker should ignore equations altogether or
Equations containing “.” should not be flagged by the Accessibility Checker
Manually remove “.” from the equation’s alt text. Though this does cause a problem for screen readers since the alt text no longer matches the equation being displayed in the UI.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Create and publish a course. 2. Create any content that uses the RCE (in this example I am using a Page). 3. Create and insert an equation that contains a “.” anywhere in the equation. 4. Wait a few seconds and notice that Accessibility Checker flags the equations.
