This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment.
Description |
---|
When an equation contains a “.” the Accessibility Checker will flag the equation for using the image file name as alt text.
Expected Behavior |
---|
Instead the Accessibility Checker should ignore equations altogether
or
Equations containing “.” should not be flagged by the Accessibility Checker
Workaround |
---|
Manually remove “.” from the equation’s alt text. Though this does cause a problem for screen readers since the alt text no longer matches the equation being displayed in the UI.
Steps to Reproduce |
---|
1. Create and publish a course.
2. Create any content that uses the RCE (in this example I am using a Page).
3. Create and insert an equation that contains a “.” anywhere in the equation.
4. Wait a few seconds and notice that Accessibility Checker flags the equations.
