This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment in version 7.10.
When embedding images in a page for a course, if a user views the page in the student app all the images will display correctly for 24h. After that 24h all image embeds will break until the user logs in again to the app.
Identify why the images are not loading correctly after 24h from their first time they login to the app.
No workaround exists at this time.
Prereq: A published course in canvas with an active student enrollment.
Create a wiki page in the course and embed an image in to the content
Navigate to the course in the student app as an actively enrolled student
Go to the course page and see that the image loads
Leave yourself logged in to the app for 23h or less and re-open the page to verify the image loads
Repeat the previous step after 24h and notice the image will appear broken.
