[OPEN] [BETA FF] Account level Grading Scheme shows edit for teachers

Canvas

Engineers are currently investigating the issue.

Description

In beta with the grading scheme redesign enabled, if a teacher viewing their course settings attempted to "view", then "edit" an account grading scheme, it appears as if they are able to rename the grading scheme, but if they try, they are giving an error stating: “There was an error while saving the grading scheme doFetchApi received a bad response: 401”

Expected Behavior

If a user does not have permission to edit a grading scheme, they should not have the pencil option.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites: Have a course with a teacher enrolled with no account level roles, have an account level grading scheme set up.

  1. As the teacher, go to the course settings page and enable grading schemes if it is not already enabled.

  2. Select the account level grading scheme.

  3. Click the "view" button to open the little pop-up of the grading scheme breakdown.

  4. Click the pencil icon to edit. Note that everything is grayed out except the title.

  5. Attempt to edit the title of the account level grading scheme and save.

  6. Note that you receive an error when you attempt to save and the changes were not applied.
