[OPEN] SpeedGrader doesn't launch to the selected group with external tool assignments

Description

When opening SpeedGrader for an external tool assignment using the “Launch SpeedGrader Filtered by Student Group” option, it opens to the first group (or whatever is selected in the Gradebook), instead of the actual group selected when launching SpeedGrader.

Expected Behavior

Instead, it should open to the selected group.

Workaround

Navigate to the Gradebook and change groups from there.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Prerequisite: A course with multiple students and Launch SpeedGrader Filtered by Student Group enabled.

  1. Create a group set with multiple groups.

  2. Create a published external tool assignment.

  3. On the assignment page, attempt to launch SpeedGrader for the second group.

  4. Notice SpeedGrader launches to the first group.

  5. In the Gradebook, change the filter to the second group.

  6. Go back to the assignment and select the first group.

  7. Nocice SpeedGrader opens to the second group instead of the first.
