Replies to Users Who Archived the Conversation Will Not place the Conversation to Their Inbox


This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 7/3/24.


When you archive a conversation and the other user replies, the conversation is not restored to the recipient's inbox. Instead, it remains in the archive, causing users to miss the new message

Expected Behavior

If a new message is received while the conversation is archived, the thread should be moved back to the inbox


No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites: Have a course and conversation with 2 participants.

  1. Once you have the conversation, Archive the message from one of the recipients

  2. Send a new message to the user who archived the conversation

  3. You will notice that the new message will not be placed in the recipients inbox
