How do I add conditional steps in a workflow?
As a LearnPlatform administrator, you can use conditional steps when creating or editing a workflow. Use conditional steps:
- when reviewers or steps depend on the product or the information submitted by the Requester
- to skip or add steps when necessary
Conditions allow you to add tags or update statuses. For example, the first step in a workflow is often for a LearnPlatform administrator to review the product and the request form that was submitted, and then apply any necessary tags and/or statuses to pull in the right mix of reviewers for each specific product. Once the tags and/or statuses have been applied, the first step is marked complete, and the workflow continues to the next step.
Notes:
- Creating a custom column in the Admin Library for conditional workflow steps makes it easier to apply tags to products.

Open Workflow Step Options

To make a workflow step conditional, click the step Options icon.

Add Condition

Click the Add Condition link.
Add Condition Trigger

Click the Add Condition drop-down menu.

Select a condition that triggers the step to run. If the condition is not met, the step is skipped. Tags and statuses are common conditions used to trigger a step.
Conditions can be grouped to apply multiple conditions
- Tag [1]: Step runs if product has or does not have a specific tag.
- Status [2]: Step runs if product has or does not have a specific status.
- Privacy status [3]: Step runs if product has or does not have a specific privacy status.
- In library [4]: Step runs if product was or was not in the product library at the beginning of the workflow (e.g., before the product was requested).
- Pinned [5]: Step runs if product is or is not pinned in the library.
- Group [6]: Step runs if all, any, none, or not all multiple conditions are met.
Add Condition

By default, all conditions must be met. To select a different condition trigger, click the All drop-down menu and select the Any, None, or Not all option.
Save Conditions

Click the Save button.
