Embedded images not showing up when i convert to a mastery quiz

I made a new quiz in canvas for a unit test coming up, like i have for the last 4 quizzes I uploaded images to canvas. 

when i uploaded the images to an old quiz they were saved under a link that started with "https: //roanoke.instructure.com/ "

However with this last test, now matter how i upload the image it starts out with "https:// roanoke.instructure.com/ " but then after I save and reopen the test it changes to an image link that starts with "https://inst-fs-iad-prod.inscloudgate.net" . this resulting change seems to carry over to Mastery connect and the result is that the image does not appear and instead a broken embed icon appears with the alt text from the image.
