In Mastery Connect, you can connect and collaborate with other Mastery Connect users by following them in the Mastery Connect Community. The Mastery Connect Community contains user profiles of all Mastery Connect users. When you follow a user, you can view their activity in your Home page News Feed.
You can unfollow users at any time. If you are an administrator, you can also prevent users from viewing your News Feed by blocking them.
Notes:
- You can make your News Feed private to followers.
- You can select whether to have email notifications sent when someone follows you.
Open Community
In the Global Navigation menu, click the More menu [1]. Then, click the Community link [2].
View Users
By default, the All tab [1] is selected and displays all users in the Mastery Connect Community.
To view only users in your district, click the My District tab [2].
To view only users in your school, click the My School tab [3].
Each page displays up to 32 users [4]. To view another page, click the Next or Previous icons [5].
Search
To find a particular user, enter all or part of the user's name in the Search field [1]. The search results display all users who have the text you entered either in their name or in their school [2].
Filter Users
To filter on grade level click the Grade Level drop-down menu [1]. Then, select a grade.
To filter by subject, click the Subject drop-down menu [2]. Then, select a subject.
To filter the list to only users who have a profile picture, click the With Photo checkbox [3].
To filter by user-defined roles, click the Role drop-down menu [4]. Then, select a role.
In the All tab, you can also filter by state, then by district, then by school [5].
View Users in Order
To view users in order of those who are most recently active, click the Most Recent tab [1]. To reverse the sort order, click the tab again.
To view users in order of those with the most followers first, click the Most Followers tab [2]. To reverse the sort order, click the tab again.
To view users in order of those with the most assessments, click the Most Assessments tab [3]. To reverse the sort order, click the tab again.
Follow, Unfollow, or Block
To follow a user, click the Follow button [1].
To unfollow a user, click the Unfollow drop-down menu [2]. Then, to unfollow the user, click the Unfollow checkbox [3].
If you are an administrator, you can prevent a user from following you or viewing your News Feed. To prevent a user from following you or viewing your News Feed, click the Block checkbox [4].
View Follows
In the Mastery Connect Community, you can view users you follow or who are following you.
To view all the users you follow, click the Following tab [1].
To view all the users following you, click the Followers tab [2].
To view users in order, click a sort order tab [3]. To reverse the sort order, click the tab again. You can view users alphabetically by last name or by recent activity, number of followers, or number of uploads performed.
Note: On your Home page, you can also view users you follow or who are following you.
View Follower Email
When someone starts following you, you receive an email message from Mastery Connect. The message displays follower's information [1].
To view the follower's entire user profile, click the View Profile button [2].
