Your students can take an assessment on their mobile devices using the Mastery Connect Student app. To deliver an assessment via the Mastery Connect Student app, you will need to download the app to your students' tablets or phones.
Notes:
- The Mastery Connect apps are available for both Android and iOS devices.
- The images shown in this lesson are from an iPhone. The Android and/or tablet interfaces may have slight differences, but have the same functionality unless otherwise noted.
Open Assessments
Students need their assessment test ID before they can take an assessment in the Mastery Connect Student app.
To access the test ID for an assessment using the Mastery Connect Teacher app, first log in.
Next, tap the Assessments icon.
Note: You can access a test ID in the Mastery Connect Teacher app or by using Mastery Connect in a desktop browser.
Open Assessment
In the Assessments view, find and tap the assessment in you want to deliver.
View Test ID
In the assessment, you can view the test ID number to give to students. To enlarge the test ID text size and view additional options, tap the test ID link [1].
You can edit the expiration of the test ID [2] or generate a new test ID [3].
Students Log In
To log in to the Mastery Connect Student app, students need their student ID numbers in addition to their test ID numbers.
Instruct your students to open the Mastery Connect Student app and enter the test ID number [1] then tap the Next button [2].
In the next screen, have them enter their student ID [3] and tap the Next button [4].
Students can then take their assessment in the app.
Note: You can find student ID numbers next to student names in tracker student lists. You can also export tracker student lists, which contain student ID numbers.
Students Take Assessment
Students can take the assessment directly in the mobile app by tapping answer bubbles for their chosen answers [1]. Their progress is automatically saved every few seconds.
If a student needs to leave before they complete their assessment, they can save their progress and finish the assessment later by tapping the Pause icon [2].
When they have answered all the assessment questions, they must tap the Finished button [3].
Students Confirm and Submit answers
After your students tap the Finished button, they are taken to a confirmation screen.
If they are done with the assessment, they can tap the Submit My Answers button [1] to confirm and submit their assessment. After tapping this, they will immediately see their assessment results. Their scores are automatically entered into your tracker.
If the students are not done, they can tap the Go Back button [2], which returns them to the assessment.
