How do I view reports for formative assessments as an admin?

As a District Administrator, you can view formative assessment reports for your institution. Formative assessment reports display mastery data for each standard associated with the assessment, and you can view data for the entire institution and for each school at your institution.

Open Admin

In the Global Navigation Menu, click the Admin link.

Hover over the Assessments tab [1] and select the Formative option [2].

Locate the formative assessment in the Assessments list and click the Reports button [1].

You can also find an assessment using the search [2] and filter options [3].

When your Assessments list displays in Grid View [4], the Reports button displays at the bottom of the assessment tile [5].

In the Results tab [1], you can view the assessment distribution date [2], the Filter button [3], the More button [4], and charts [5].

You can filter the displayed results using the report filters. To open the Report Filters menu, click the Filter button [1].

By default, the chart displays results in Mastery view [2]. However, you can change view results by clicking the Item Analysis radio button [3].

To view assessment results for a specific school at your institution, click the School drop-down menu [4]. All schools at your institution display in the School menu.

To filter assessment results by a specific class, click the Class drop-down menu [5].

To filter assessment results by a specific demographic, click the Demographic drop-down menu [6].

To filter assessment results by school year, click the School Year drop-down menu [7].

You can also filter the displayed results to include or exclude data.

To view archived data in the report results, click the Include Archived Data checkbox [8].

To exclude standards or items with no score results, click the Exclude No Scores checkbox [9].

To exclude report data for any remote assessments, click the Exclude Remote Scores checkbox [10].

To save your changes, click the Apply button [11].

View Report Charts

As an admin, the formative assessment reports display a chart with institution-level information [1], as well as charts for each school at your institution [2].

Each mastery chart lists the assessed standard [3] and student mastery level percentages [4]. You can also view the percent of students for whom no score is recorded [5].

To view a chart item summary, hover over the chart item [6]. To view mastery level details, click a chart item [7].

If you use the filter to select the Item Analysis view, you can view institution-level data for each item in the assessment. Each item displays the item title [1], a link to the associated standard [2], and a chart illustrating the number of students that achieved each mastery level [3].

To view details about students within each mastery level, click the chart bar [4].

Each item also displays metadata [5]. This metadata includes the criteria type used for scoring the assessment, the number of points the item is worth within the assessment, the item's Depth of Knowlege score (DOK), and the item number.

Note: If no DOK score is available for an item, n/a will display in place of a DOK score.

Download or Print Report

To view the download or print options for a report, click the Options button [1].

To download the report, you can export the report as a CSV file [2] or send the report to an external server [3].

To print report results, click the Print link [4]. The report opens in a new browser tab and your browser's print settings display.

Note: To send the report to an external server, you must first set up a server connection.

Enter a title for the export in the Export Name field [1].

Select the format for your export using the Export format options [2]. By default, the Classic format option is selected. For more information about the format options, click the Information icon [3].

Then click the Export button [4].

Notes:

  • The Classic CSV format displays standard alignment, points possible, and correct answer choices as column headers.
  • The Expanded CSV Format includes student demographic information and individual columns for standard alignment, points possible, and correct answer.
  • The ethnicity column of the Expanded CSV export refers to Hispanic or Latino student demographics.
  • After you download your CSV file, you may need to extract it from a zip folder.

View Data Export Status

The Data Export page opens to the My Downloads tab [1]. While the system processes the data export, an In Progress icon displays [2].

When the file is exported and ready for download, a Download icon displays [3].

Manage Export

To download a ZIP file containing the CSV file(s), click the Download icon [1]. The downloaded ZIP file is named in the following format according to the date of the export, time of the export (universal time), and the export name: MM-DD-YYYY_Hour_Min_Sec-[export name].zip.

To remove a download from the My Downloads list, click the More icon [2] and click the Delete option [3].

Open the ZIP file and view the downloaded CSV file for each assessment in the export.

Notes:

  • CSV files contained in the ZIP file are named in the following format according to the name of the assessment, the assessment ID, and date of the export: [assessment name]_[assessment ID]_YYYY-MM-DD.csv.
  • Assessment and export names in the exported files include underscores in place of spaces.

To send scores to a server, enter a title for the export in the Export Name field [1].

Select the SFTP connection where you want to send scores in the Connection drop-down menu [2]. Once you select a server, the server data displays [3].

Select the format for your export using the Export format options [4]. By default, the Classic format option is selected. For more information about the format options, click the Information icon [5].

Then click the Send to Server button [6].

Note: To send an export to an external server, you must first set up a server connection.
