MasteryConnect Release Notes (2022-01-12)

MasteryConnect Release Notes (2022-01-12)

In this MasteryConnect release (January 12), existing trackers can be migrated to a new course.

  New Features

Tracker Migration

Existing trackers can be migrated to a new course. This update allows instructors to easily maintain trackers over different semesters/terms. Once the tracker connection is made, instructors will have access to their mastery tracker in their current Canvas course, which includes mastery data, assessments built with third-party item banks, and tools to support competency-based learning.

Linking a Tracker from another Course requires a Canvas account and MasteryConnect account to be synced via a student information system (SIS).

Sections can be manually linked if Canvas is unable to find any matching sections in MasteryConnect.

In a new course, the selected source should be the Link a Tracker from Another Course option.

Unscored assessments can be imported with the tracker. This option is checked by default.

Once a tracker has migrated to a new course, the Tracker will automatically be unlinked from the old course. Copied MasteryConnect linked assignments will remain but cannot be administered. Grades will remain in the Gradebook of the old course; however, Grade Passback is disabled for MasteryConnect assessments.
