I have a student whose quiz results are covered by a large grey rectangle. It seems to overlap most things while a few items show up on top of it. There are no errors in his attempt log, and everyone else's results show up without issue.
When I looked at it from the student's side, the same rectangle emerged with a score overtop of it and a scrollable sliver of the quiz results behind (unfortunately not captured in the screenshot):
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? Thanks! 😊
@MiaPomales ...
That's pretty strange. By chance, were any of these questions copy/pasted from a MS Word document? If so, I wonder if Word is bringing in some rogue HTML code that is causing these large gray boxes to appear? What happens when you are editing the quiz questions? Do you see those gray boxes then, too? Looking forward to hearing back from you soon!
I would guess that it's what @Chris_Hofer suggested--that there's some extra code in the HTML of one of the essay answers that's affecting the rest of the quiz. I had a similar situation with a New Quiz a few months ago (Case 09641886). In that case, the response to an essay question "overlaid" the rest of the quiz (so I could see the essay response statically display as I scrolled throughout the full quiz). This affected only 1 student in the course (and 1 other had an essay question display with a really small width). For those cases, it was recommended instructors and TAs view the log for those questions when it was difficult to read the response. For both students, it did seem like the students copy/pasted from Word or somewhere else because they displayed with Times New Roman font.
