I am really hoping someone has figured this out. I built a 108 question item bank at the root level for my university. It only shows in All Item Banks. I don't remember choosing anything to get it there. I just went into Item Bank in my Admin login, and started a new one. Each question is coded and tagged so I can find them by date added, and outcome code. I attached the matching outcome to each question.   I built a quiz in a course using New Quizzes in the master course, importing the questions from the item bank, randomizing the questions. That all worked beautifully. We copied the section and the students took the exam which also went fine.  Here's the problem. When I run the Outcomes Analysis it shows the total score under every outcome rather than the X of Y score I was looking for. I've been back and forth with support on this and got escalated to L2 and was told  Our guide states "Outcomes associated with questions from item banks do not display in the Outcomes Analysis report." I have seen this issue presented (and I know I presented it last year), but I have not seen that the problem has been resolved.  Has the issue of matching where the auto grading will give students either full credit if they have no errors or zero credit even if they answered all but one of the matching correctly been fixed?  This seems like an easy fix to change so that a student gets credit the ones they match correctly.  If it has NOT been fixed (I checked in the spring of 2021 and the  problem still existed) WILL it be fixed in New Quizzes any time soon? ... Forgive me if this has been asked and answered but I have not been able to find an answer. Someone please identify a timeline for when New Quizzes will have the new RCE. I know it's "a priority" but that doesn't give me an answer to give to my faculty. I am stuck in between Canvas' refusal to properly vet New Quizzes and my faculty's reluctance to jump on board the runaway train that is New Quizzes. I'm tired and I just want to provide a good experience for my users but Instructure is making that awful hard right now. ... View more

We are starting to work with Institutional Item Banks in New Quizzes. Right now, I have one curriculum department as our guinea pigs, and I foresee this space becoming cumbersome for staff to navigate in the future. I would love to see some additional organizational structure in place under the Intuitional category. I imagine both K12 (myself) and higher ed would want to organize item banks by subject area/department and for K12 by grade level or at least by instructional level (elementary, middle high). We are currently using some naming conventions to identify these banks, but as use expands across departments and grade levels, teachers will have difficulty finding banks. In lieu of a directory structure, being able to add tags to banks and then having selectable filters (similar to what we have in Commons) would be another design structure that would improve user workflow. ...
