When aligning by object, you can search for and align to any standards available in your account.
Open Align by Object
In the Navigation Menu, click the Align by Object link [1]. Alternatively, you can click the dashboard Start with Objects button [2].
Search Standards
Locate the object to align and click the Align button [1].
Click the Search Standards button [2].
Search Standards
To search all standards within the grade and subject of your object, enter keywords or a standard abbreviation into the Search field.
To search using a wildcard, enter an asterisk at the beginning and/or end of a search phrase. For example, to search for standard descriptions involving the phrase ask questions, enter *ask questions* in the Search field.
To search using a complete ID or title, surround the complete ID or title in quotes. For example:
- To search for a standard whose complete abbreviation is 2.2.5, enter "2.2.5" in the Search field.
- To search for a standard whose complete title is ask questions to clarify or gain further information, enter "ask questions to clarify or gain further information" in the Search field.
View Results
Standards that match the search criteria display in the Results area.
Filter Results
By default, results include standards in all regions. To filter the results by region or authority, click the Region drop-down menu [1] and select a region or authority.
By default, results include standards within the subject and grade of the object. To filter by an additional grade, click the Grade drop-down menu [3] and select a grade.
To remove a filter, click the Remove icon [4].
To remove all filters, click the Reset Filters link [5].
Search Applied Collection/Filters
You can also limit the search results according to your currently selected standards filters. Standards filters are selected individually or loaded from a collection. To view search results based on your standards filters, click the Search within Applied Collection/Filters toggle on.

Align to Standard
To align to a standard in the Results list, click the Align button [1].
To unalign to a standard, click the Aligned icon [2].
Close Window
To close the Search Standards to Align window, click the Close icon [1] or the Close button [2].
View Aligned Standard
The aligned standard(s) display on the Aligned tab.
