Identifying and reaching out to students who might be struggling, especially in large classes, can be a time-consuming and often reactive process for teachers. We're thrilled to announce a powerful new enhancement within Intelligent Insights designed to directly address this challenge: Students in Need of Attention at the course level.
This new feature extends the capabilities of our existing Students in Need of Attention to directly empower teachers. Now, instructors can:
This provides teachers with the tools they need to be proactive and efficient in supporting their students. It empowers teachers to directly identify and support students, based on criteria that truly matter for their courses. By streamlining the process of identifying and reaching out to those who need help, teachers can save time. This new capability can also reduce the burden on administrators or support staff who might otherwise be tasked with creating reports for teachers.
For Intelligent Insights customers, this feature will be available for teachers as the first tab in New Course Analytics. It's designed to give teachers easy access – within an existing workflow – to a customizable list of students who aren't meeting performance or engagement requirements, making it simpler for them to focus their attention where it's most needed.
Admins can make this feature available for other teacher-based roles, like TAs, via the permission Intelligent Insights - Students in Need of Attention Course Level.
We're committed to continually innovating for the teaching and learning experience. With Students in Need of Attention at the course level, we're putting more power directly into the hands of teachers, enabling more timely and targeted support for every student.
Look for this feature to be generally available July 19, 2025. We're excited to highlight this at InstructureCon!
