In today’s crowded edtech landscape, integration quality matters. Educators and administrators are under pressure to deliver seamless digital learning experiences without compromising on usability, data privacy, or security. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight our Canvas Certified Integration Program: Our initiative that highlights edtech solutions that meet the highest standards for Canvas LMS compatibility and performance.

We’re even more excited to celebrate the first partners to achieve Canvas Certified Status: Poll Everywhere, Kialo Edu, WeVideo, and Wooclap!

What is Canvas Certified Integration?

The Canvas Certified Integration Program recognizes tools that deliver outstanding integration experiences within Canvas LMS and related products. Certified integrations are thoroughly reviewed by Instructure’s Developer Relations team and meet rigorous requirements for:

  • LTI 1.3 compliance, including Dynamic Registration
  • Transparency around data privacy, security, and accessibility standards
  • User experience across Canvas features and workflows
  • Reliable documentation to support institutional vetting and implementation

We support transparency and encourage all partners to follow accessibility and security best practices. To help institutions make informed decisions, we provide a way for partners to link to relevant documentation– such as VPATs for accessibility– directly through the Partner Portal. These documents, along with any applicable badges earned, are displayed within product listings to help admins quickly assess integration readiness and compliance.

Once certified, tools are awarded a badge that appear in the Canvas Apps Discover page making it easy for educators and admins to identify high-quality integrations they can trust.

What This Means for Institutions

The Canvas Certified integration, identified by a badge, helps administrators and instructional teams identify tools that are secure, accessible, and built for seamless teaching and learning. Certified integrations are rigorously evaluated for LTI 1.3 compliance, modern features like dynamic registration, deep linking, and grade passback, and optimized user experience across Canvas placements. They also surface transparent privacy and accessibility documentation– making your vetting process faster and more reliable, while helping ensure long-term success with committed, well-supported partners.

Whether you're adding new tools or validating existing ones, certified listings help ensure your digital ecosystem is safe, high-performing, and future-ready.

Why Certification Matters

Certification is more than a badge– it’s a signal of trust, quality, and commitment to Canvas best practices. Certified tools are prioritized in discovery, offer smoother implementation experiences, and give institutions the confidence they need during the vetting process. Certified partners also commit to annual re-certification, maintaining up-to-date integration quality and documentation in support of evolving institutional needs.

For institutions, the program makes it easy to identify tools that meet today’s standards for learning technology. And for partners, certification helps grow visibility, reach, and adoption by showcasing integration quality where it matters most.
