I started using Canvas and became a Canvas admin for K-12 in 2015 when I was the Computing Services Coordinator for a local school district. In the summer of 2019, I transitioned to an Academic Technology Specialist focusing on Canvas for Higher Ed. Since 2008 and prior to Canvas, I used Angel, Blackboard, and My Big Campus.

@dd Grading notes are only for people that can issue grades, so roles based off TA and Teacher. Students do not have access to them at any point.

@lshulman For what it is worth, you may want to reach out to whoever is your Canvas Administrator for your school/institution. The new design is still in beta and was not a forced push out by Canvas....
