Canvas Student Release Notes (iOS 7.0)

In Canvas Student 7.0, students can favorite groups, and Offline mode is supported.

Canvas iOS app version updates are distributed in a phased rollout, which distributes the update to all users enrolled in automatic updates over time. The features in these notes may not immediately be available, but iOS users can manually update the app at any time in the iTunes Store. The Canvas Student iOS App requires iOS 15.0 or later.

Groups

Favorite Groups

Students can favorite groups to display in the Dashboard.

Dashboard All Courses Link

 Tap the All Courses link.

Favorite Groups Icon

Tap the star icon to favorite the desired group.

Related Idea: [Groups] Only show groups marked as favorite.

Feature Option

Courses

Offline Content

When enabled, students can sync course content to view as read-only when offline.

Dashboard Option Icon

In the Dashboard, tap the Options icon.

Manage Offline Content Link

Then, tap the Manage Offline Content link.

Course Selections Display

Students can tap the Select All link [1] or select individual courses [2]. Then, tap the Sync button [3].

Sync Offline Content Confirmation Message

A confirmation message displays with the approximate storage needed to sync content. Then, tap the Sync button.

Syncing Offline Content Progress Bar

In the Dashboard, a progress bar displays during the sync process.

Downloaded Courses Display in the Dashboard

When offline, only synced courses are available for viewing.
