  • Sections vs. Courses 1 to 1 or 1 to many explanation - Google Doc
    • 1-to-Many (aka sections)
      Pros: Simple to set up.
Cons: Not as flexible for special classes (ie. a cohort that is taught differently than other classes of the same course)

    • One-to-One

      Pros: Very flexible
Cons: Content needs to be copied to each course/section unless cross listing is done.
Info: Sections may be added to a different course by using “Cross-Listing.” If cross-listing is done by a Canvas Admin, more thought and planning needs to go into setup. Cross-listing may also be done by each teacher. The process is simple but the teacher needs to be trained how to create the cross-list.
