There are 7 different event types in CanvasLIVE.
|EVENT TYPE||DESCRIPTION||LENGTH||GREAT FOR||EXAMPLES|
Online video chats where people join to informally discuss a tool or topic of interest. Meet-ups include at least one facilitator to help jump-start the conversation.
Short informal demonstrations of a tool in action. If you want to demo a 3rd party tool (like an LTI), be sure to focus on its integration with Canvas.
(No demos of features in closed beta, please)
Informal reverse Q&A on Twitter. The 'host' of the chat posts 3-6 questions related to a topic on Twitter over the course of 1 hour and others chime in with their comments and feedback. Should include #hashtags.
Events presented by one person or a group of people on a specific tool or topic of interest. It often includes a slide deck with open Q&A throughout (or at the end of) the session.
Curated events where a moderator brings together a group of 2-4 people for a cafe-style discussion around a tool or topic.
When a school or community member hosts a workshop in real-time through CanvasLIVE. Interactive components are included where participants are encouraged to participate.
Opportunities for users to experience or use a feature, a tool, or an LTI in a sandbox or demo Canvas course.
