Many Canvas institutions offer programs governed by state or accreditation board requirements for high-stakes testing. Requirements for such programs often include the need to grade students with precision to the second decimal place.
As an instructor:
- I see two decimal places in the calculated totals column in my course gradebooks
- I see data related to any grading scheme I might have implemented in the totals column, too, and the addition of the second decimal place doesn't cause this information to appear squished or too small to read
- When I download a gradebook .csv from one of my courses, the totals column in the .csv also includes two decimal places
