Canvas Deploy Notes (2020-04-04)
Deploys currently take place weekly to align with temporarily deploy adjustments as announced in COVID-19 Updates to Canvas Releases and Deploys
Canvas deploys contain code changes that are intended to fix bugs, improve performance, and prepare for new features, but they do not affect customer workflows. These deploys take place every two weeks and can be tested in the beta environment before the production deploy date indicated in the title of this document. Intended changes in workflow are noted in the Canvas Release Notes published monthly.
Deploy notes include notable fixed bugs and additional updates that do not affect existing user functionality.

Password Reset Confirmation Update
Summary
The Password Reset confirmation notification has been updated with password recovery instructions. Additionally, the notification is retained until dismissed by the user.
Change Benefit
This change ensures users can view the password recovery information. Previously the confirmation notification was automatically removed from the page after a few seconds.
Affected User Roles
All Users
Users who are able to reset their Canvas account passwords can use the Forgot Password link in Canvas to reset their password. Once submitted, the Password Reset form redirects the user back to the login page and provides a confirmation notification. This notification verifies the email address entered by the user. In addition, the notification clarifies that the reset email may take up to 30 minutes to arrive in the user’s email Inbox and to check the spam folder.
Commons
Non-US Media Sharing Support
Summary
Commons media sharing (audio and video) is supported outside the United States.
Change Benefit
This change ensures all Commons users worldwide have the same user experience in sharing media resources.
Affected User Roles
Instructors
Users in any location using Commons can share a video or audio resource with other users outside of the United States. Sharing functionality is the same as noted in Commons documentation.
Courses
New Instructor Tutorials Home and Conferences Content Update
This feature is used in conjunction with the New User Tutorial feature option. Please view the content below for additional details. For more information about feature options, please see the Canvas Release Notes FAQ.
This feature update will be added to the beta environment on 1 April.
Summary
New Instructor Canvas tutorials for Home and Conferences have been updated with revised subheadings.
Change Benefit
This change aligns consistency with other tutorial content.
Affected User Roles
Instructors
When enabled for an account, New Instructor Tutorials display for instructors in newly created courses. The Home and Conferences tutorials have updated subheadings that match the parallel content structure of other tutorial pages.
