Yes, you can use javascripts in Canvas! I've created a "Widget Warehouse" of Canvas-friendly scripts that I use in my classes which you can copy-and-paste into your Canvas Pages if you want. These widgets are randomizers, showing new content at random when the page reloads. There are Growth Mindset Cats which could be useful in any class, along with motivational memes and graphics for reading, writing, and time management, along with much more. Perhaps you will get some ideas for javascript widgets you want to make for your classes too! All the widgets are made with the free tool, no programming experience required.

Contact Laura Gibbs in advance of the event with any questions or special requests.

Demo agenda:

  • Include javascripts in your Canvas Pages and Discussion Boards.
  • Increase access to content by randomization.
  • Make your content more fun with the power of random.

This is the fourth in a series of Connected Learning with Cats CanvasLIVE presentations. For more cats and other curiosities, see my blog, Teaching with Canvas.

The magic of random widgets is a great way to awaken the emotions of learning in your students every time they visit your pages.
