You've spent a lot of time getting Canvas up and running, but how do you know if it’s being used? We’ll demonstrate how we automate student/faculty engagement analytics for consumption by student advisors and program chairs. See how you can view activity, running grade analysis, attendance based on academic events, and more.
Presenter: Chris Freeman - Education Corporation of America
My name is Michael Justin Nkaduda. I have listened carefully at the Lecture presentation for the students frequency academic analysis, and think that it is a very effective way of maintaining records, recording and maintaining student performance data, analyzing achievements, showing attendance and correlating with students grades and can be used for behavioral interventions.
The data frequencies classified in different categories, simplifies the viewing methods, gives an all round analysis of the student based an a broad view, can form a premise of analysis and research and may be used to decode on behaviors, trends and the academic seriousness of the student. Such classifications based on years and days of attendance, courses of study, by names, by gender etc is a sure way of capturing students records. It gives statistics that relates to student performance and justifies how it relates to its GPA ratings.
Student records also give credibility to the University, in that whatever marks obtained give a true indication of what the student performance is and that any efforts to improve the student rating can be initiated in good time through student counseling, peer group interventions etc. The University will also use the data of its in-house planning and expectations.
I therefore appreciate the Lecture as its has given me insights of what to expect form the University.
