I wanted to check and make sure you are using a supported Browser and Browser version which is listed on Which browsers does Canvas support?
Could you please double check, often we have found an out-of-date Safari browser can cause this issue. An up-to-date Chrome or Firefox browser is a great option if you are unable to update your MacBook to the latest version of MacOS (and hence Safari).
If you still have problems, can you please let us know the browser and version so we can try to troubleshoot further.
