I am hoping to add a section with resources for reference (links to blogs, online tools, websites). Is there a tool that allows me to insert these links without having to add them into a file (.doc, .pdf)? 

What would be the most convenient way? 

Is there a way to share safari bookmarks or else into canvas?

Hi  @cnovella  and welcome to the Community!  Have you considered using a Module for this (see What are Modules?).  You can add existing course content to a module as well as things like external URLs (see How do I add an external URL as a module item?).  We have resource modules in a number of our classes, and a module can even be shared to the Canvas Commons so that other instructors can download this in their classes.

Just in case anyone is still wondering about this question--

Recently, I've had issues with using Modules as a place to post links. I had used Modules for a while as a place to post links, but my students get confused because Modules in their other courses is a place for a sequential lesson with an assessment at the end. I have around 50 links to resources on various topics; I refer students to these links on as needed individually when giving feedback on papers. I'm now gravitating towards collapsible lists as a place for these links so students won't click through links thinking it's a sequential lesson. 

There are directions for simple accordion menus here. Our school has added an integration--Cidilabs--which has an accordion menu tool.
