[ARCHIVED] Accessing Dashboard

I am new to using Canvas.... Under the dashboard icon, my daughters courses are not shown.  If I go to the courses icon, I do not have the ability to select courses to move to the dashboard.  How can I access her course work and  information teachers are posting?

If you are seeing the courses in the courses icon, you can access them from there.  The stars in front of the course name is how they can be added to the dashboard.

I am seeing the courses in the course icon, but nothing is showing under announcements or course work.  I know teachers are posting to canvas because they're also emailing.  However, I'm not able to access it.  Also, I should be able to move courses to the dashboard by using the stars in front of the course name.  I am also unable to select a course to move to dashboard.  What else can I try in order to access classroom information?

Hi Jaime -  There's a chance that your browser is out of date. Make sure that you're using a supported browser as you explore Canvas. Which browsers does Canvas support?‌

Welcome to the awesome! Canvas is an amazing tool for teachers and students...and families! 

To change which courses are displayed on your dashboard, you should be able to add a star next to each name. First, click Courses then All Courses. This will open a list of all available courses for this term.

if you haven't yet found the Canvas Parent app, I encourage you to take a look. It's free in the Apple and Google Play stores, and it provides great at-a-glance information for Observers.
