Is there a way to alphabetize the matching options on a quiz question? They automatically go in a random order, which makes the drop-down list difficult to read, and difficult for students to find the word they are looking for! I would love to know if there is a way to have the drop-down list show up in alphabetical order. Thanks!
Hello there, @TeachRegele ...
Question for you...are the list of words you want alphabetized paired with definitions to be matched to those words? If so, are the definitions long or short in length? If you want your students to match words with their definitions, and if the definitions are short it length, then you might try swapping the columns in which the words and the definitions are entered when you are building the matching question. Then, you would have control over the alphabetical listing of those words...but on the flip side, your definitions may not be alphabetized (starting with the first letter of the first word in the definition)...if that was also important to you.
The way you currently have it set up, Canvas will randomize the list of words...not based on alphabetical order...and I don't believe there is any way to change that, unfortunately.
I know this might not be the answer you were looking for, but I hope it helps to answer your question. Take care...be well.
