Welcome to the Canvas Community! Instructors can show course navigation links by following the instructions in How do I manage Course Navigation links? Keep in mind that even after you've adjusted its visibility, if the Assignments tab doesn't yet contain any content it will remain invisible to students until you add a piece of content; at that point, it will automatically display in students' view.
