There needs to be a way that a teacher can upload a PDF under assignments that then allows the students to edit on top of said PDF.  Kind of like filling out a form.  It needs to be easier for the little ones to do instead of downloading and uploading all sorts of things.  

Please start looking into more options for assignments especially for 8 and under.

Hello @MarisaStLouis ...

You are correct that this currently isn't possible within Canvas.  However, what you've posted here sounds more like you're wanting to submit a Feature Idea rather than posting a question for the Community to answer.  I would recommend that you post your idea in the "Idea Conversations" area here within the Community.  If you click on the PRODUCT menu at the top of any page here in the Community and then select IDEA CONVERSATIONS, you'll see the button to "Suggest an Idea".
