A couple of our schools at the University are anticipating a secure and required way to prove attendance to protect accreditation.

Because some classes are large, attendance through the Canvas attendance feature takes too much time and is susceptible to errors in logging attendance.

I.E. Many complaints about missed classes when classes were attended and verified by third parties.

Is there a plan to make attendance data importable, like from a card swipe or fingerprint reader system that integrates with the SIS database of enrolled students?

This is not possible or not advertised at this point.

I would look for a third-party attendance solution if you want any features not present in the Roll Call attendance.
