Is there a way for me to automatically assign points for a "completed" or submitted assignment? In other words, can I set an assignment to automatically award points to a student who submits a response? I’m trying this in my Physics classes. They have to complete various simulations and have self-graded in the past. But in Canvas, I’m making them submit a summary, but I want them to get some automatic points for submission.

@sarafloyd , you could design the activity as a single-question Graded Survey. Students will automatically receive full points for completing the survey. For specifics, have a look at How do I create a survey in my course?

Greetings! Have you had a chance to review Stefanie's response? Does it help?
Will this still work after Canvas retires the classic exam?
Yes thank you!
So this works to give completion points but it does NOT allow students to see correct answers in the feedback. I really need a way to assign a "completion points" assignment that gives students formative feedback about their learning.
