[ARCHIVED] Calendar Events showing up as "To-Do" for students

When I post an event to the calendar (not an assignment), the event shows up in my student's to-do list, whereas in the teacher view, it shows up as an upcoming event. Is there any way to change this? The event I am posting are not required so I would not like them to show up as things for the student "to-do."
