[ARCHIVED] Can I create a sandbox for each of my teachers?

We are new district to Canvas and I am trying to figure out how to create a personal sandbox for each of my teachers to be able to explore/start creating content. I have figured out how to create one Sandbox and add all my teachers to it, but I would like them all to have their own. Is this possible?

Yes this is possible and even recommended for them. If they are developing their own courses then it is essential.

They may be able to create their own sandboxes by going to the dashboard and choosing create new course. This lesson from the Canvas Instructor Guide explains how: How do I start a new course from the Dashboard as an instructor?

We did this very same thing. You can use SIS Imports. Create your courses in Excel -- you'll need a list of your teachers and use Excel formulas to come up with standard long and short names for each Sandbox, for example we use "Sandbox for A. Teacher" and the short name is "TEST-ATEACHER" (but be careful, they should be unique). Then you create an enrollments file and enroll each teacher in their sandbox with the "teacher" role. We put all of our sandboxes in the Default term (leaver term_id blank).
