[ARCHIVED] Can I mark a graded discussion as received?

My course has an optional synchronous discussion. I host one of the discussion posts live and those that participate get credit for the graded discussion. It still shows up as "MISSING" on their end, even though I have entered a grade (because they haven't written anything on the discussion board). Is there a setting I can change that would mark a graded discussion as received so it wouldn't show up as missing for the student?
