[ARCHIVED] Can I schedule a message from inbox to send later?

I would like to draft a message to students and have it send at a later time. Is that something I can do via inbox?

Unfortunately, scheduling Inbox messages is no possible in Canvas.  You might consider submitting this as a Feature Idea here in the Community.  Click on the "PRODUCT" menu at the top of any page here in the Community, and then select "IDEA CONVERSATIONS".

@awaugh  - Unfortunately, Canvas messages doesn't have that option. You could use an announcement though and schedule the delay posting.

@cholling - I am new to the conversation about scheduling emails in Canvas and came across this discussion thread when researching the sending of emails in Canvas. Since the last post in the thread was made in 2020, have there been any updates to Canvas' email features? Can emails now be scheduled to be sent at a later date within Canvas?

Nope....to my knowledge, nothing has changed.  And, to be clear, Canvas does not have e-mail.  They have a messaging system within Canvas via an "Inbox".  So, you can send/receive messages to/from people that are enrolled in the same course(s) that you are enrolled in.  But, you cannot send/receive messages to those that are not enrolled in your course(s) such as friends and family members...like you could do with regular e-mail...because they are most likely not enrolled in these courses with you.  However, you can set up your Canvas user account details to get notified via e-mail about these messages that are being sent/received via the Canvas Inbox.

Even though this probably isn't the answer you were hoping for, I hope it helps to answer your question.
